MANUEL Pellegrini could still be City manager next season, with Pep Guardiola prepared to take a year off before moving to England.

And if the Bayern Munich boss does delay his arrival, the Blues could face a renewed challenge from United for his services.

Guardiola is widely expected to replace Pellegrini as manager at the Etihad next season.

But the Spaniard, who has stated his desire to work in the Premier League, has now revealed it could be TWO years before he moves to the English game.

That would allow Pellegrini to see out the final year of his City contract and spare the club the awkward decision of dismissing a man who has won two trophies for them - and could well add more in this campaign.

But it also opens the door to a potential move to Old Trafford.

City remain favourites to land him this summer, with United refusing to enter the battle for his signature while Louis van Gaal still has 18 months to run on his United deal. …
