Palace's Goal Drought Sees Pardew Target Adebayor

CRYSTAL Palace boss Alan Pardew is considering a move for former City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

For all the talents of Wilfried Zaha, Yannick Bolasie and Yohan Cabaye, Palace have only scored 22 goals in the league this season, the lowest of any team in the division's top 12.

Only one of those goals has come from a recognised striker - a Connor Wickham penalty against Stoke.

A potential move for Adebayor, who scored 19 goals in 45 appearances for City between 2009 and 2011, is far from close, but he is a proven Premier League striker who has previously interested Pardew, who is expected to recall Wickham at the Etihad Stadium today.

Pardew said: "Adebayor is a player that is there for somebody and it is a question of ourselves looking at that one and wondering where the right club for him is and whether he is the right player for us. …
