Because he was injured and didn't play when the Denver Broncos were at Heinz Field last month, Peyton Manning signed autographs for nearly 100 Steelers fans behind the Broncos bench before the game. He signed everything ? hats, shirts, tickets, programs, even a wedding invitation.

There was one item he refused to sign ? a Terrible Towel.

Manning, though, said Wednesday he didn't sign any towels because he didn't think it was right for a non-Steelers player to sign their famous trademark.

"I think it's wrong for me to be signing their towel," Manning told Denver area reporters. "That's their towel. I don't sign Giants hats. I see people that have an Eli [Manning] signature on Giants hat and I've said, ?Hey, that's his team.' That's what he should be signing for.

"I'll sign a towel, but that's the Pittsburgh Steeler towel. …
