Police Called in Row over Old Folks'home Snowmen

pOLICE were called after a row erupted at a retirement home when a pensioner appeared to shout at youngsters for building SNOWMEN on the grounds.

Officers arrived in two vans after an elderly person at Tatton Court retirement home in Heaton Moor, Stockport, called to report that youths were involved in a war of words with residents about their wintry creations yesterday afternoon.

Another resident, who asked not to be named, told the M.E.N. the 'fracas' began at around noon after two snowmen appeared on the bowling green at the Derby Road complex.

It is understood a pensioner left his home to shout at the kids after taking offence at the snowmen being built.

The resident said the youngsters were involved in a 'massive row' with at least two other people about the snowmen being there - and that someone later called police in a bid to calm the heated situation.

The resident, who took a snap of one of the snowmen, claimed one of the policemen simply told one of the adults involved in the row: "Snow melts. …
