STOCKPORT COUNTY rallied to earn their first point of 2016 with a 1-1 draw at home to Nuneaton in the National League North.

Rob Duffy gave the visitors a first-half lead but Delial Brewster claimed a late leveller for County, who had Mike Flynn as interim boss after Neil Young's exit last week.

"I think we would have taken a point before the game," said club legend Flynn.

"We told them to stick together and keep trying to play. We didn't play with the tempo that we do at training, but the lads stuck together.

"It's been a rollercoaster. We've conceded 12 points in stoppage time this season so it was tense, but we definitely earned a point."

Goalkeeping errors dogged Young's reign and Flynn's tenure got off to a similar start after 20 minutes.

Dean Henderson, who joined on loan from United just before Young's resignation, came for a cross from deep and failed to make any contact, allowing Duffy to head home. …
