TOMS RIVER -- Many of North Jersey's top track and field teams chose not to participate in the State Relays at the Bennett Center this weekend, but that didn't stop the Hasbrouck Heights boys pole vault and Glen Rock girls shuttle hurdles teams from earning gold medals Sunday.

Brian Moran cleared a Group 1 meet-leading 12 feet and combined with Dylan Freschi to win the event with a combined height of 21 feet.

The Aviators also took second in the girls shuttle hurdles (33.42 seconds) and sixth in the shot put (78-10 1/2) to finish with 19 points, fifth in the Boys Group 1 team standings.

Glen Rock's Julia Kelly, Alethia Jadick, Hannah Vanderwall and Selma Sose combined to win the Group 1 girls shuttle hurdles race in 35.07 seconds, with Hasbrouck Heights third at 36. …
