Sale Chief Says Team Must Keep Its Focus

SALE FC chairman of rugby Richard Trickey has urged his team to cut out the mistakes as his team bid to consolidate their position in National League Two North.

The rise of Sale FC over the last few years has been remarkable, promoted six times since 2004. They now sit in 12th place in the fourth tier of English rugby, just two places above the relegation zone after a difficult start in League Two.

Seventeen games into the season, their campaign hangs in the balance and performances like that at Broadstreet last week will not help.

Sale travelled to the Midland's side, who are sitting at the foot of the table, with expectations of victory, but conceded 33 first- half points.

Trickey was quick to criticise the players' first-half display, and stressed the importance of maintaining concentration.

"We could have won the game but it's the taking of opportunities and making the least mistakes to win the games where we struggle," he said. …
