Mine in Greene Co. Sees 2nd Death Victim Is Worker from W.Va

For the second time in less than a year, a worker at Greene County coal mine has died in an accident at the mine. The victim was identified as Jeremy R. Neice, 31, of Danville, W.Va.

The fatal accident happened about 6 p.m. Saturday at the 4 West Mine owned by Mepco of Morgantown, W.Va. The 4 West Mine is located near Mount Morris.

Brian M. Osborn, senior vice president of operations for Mepco, issued a statement that read, in part, "We at the company are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague. During this very difficult time, we extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Jeremy's family, to all our employees, and to all who knew Jeremy."

Operations at the mine have been suspended, according to Mr. Osborn. He declined to provide details about the accident and said he could not give any information about Mr. …
