Blues * The Blues are back on the ice for the third of a four- game homestand. They are 1-1 after a 4-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday. In that game, they lost forward Alexander Steen in the third period, when he was hit in the face by the stick of teammate Kevin Shattenkirk. The club did not practice Friday and Steen's status against Montreal will be decided after Saturday's morning skate. Brian Elliott, who made 21 saves while taking the loss to the Hurricanes, will be back in net against the Canadiens.

Canadiens * Montreal blanked the Blues 3-0 on 38 saves by goaltender Carey Price on Oct. 20 at the Bell Centre. After that game, the Canadiens were No. 1 in the NHL standings with 14 points. …
