Hill Hits January Sales to Sign Syers for Rochdale

KEITH Hill completed his first bit of business in the January transfer window when he swooped for former Scunthorpe United midfielder David Syers.

The goalscoring midfielder had been training with the squad for the past week since his release from the Iron and signed a deal until the end of the season on Monday.

The 28-year-old began his career in non-league before making the move into professional football in the summer of 2010 when he joined Bradford City. A move to Doncaster Rovers followed two years later. During his time at Rovers he enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Iron and made a permanent switch to Glanford Park in 2014.

Hill is delighted to have secured Syers' services: "David is a good player. He has pedigree, he scores goals, he is an effective midfield player, he knows what to do in both boxes and he has got the right experience," he said. …
