Cold Snap Lingers Another Day Snow May Arrive Wednesday

Bundle up. It's going to be another cold one.

A blast of arctic air from Canada once again will cause temperatures to sink back into the single digits this morning, and a wind chill advisory issued by the National Weather Service on Monday will remain in effect until 11 a.m. for the Pittsburgh area and surrounding counties.

Wind chills are caused by a combination of cold air and strong winds and can result in frostbite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

Today's wind chills are expected to dip as low as minus 10 degrees with gusts between 10 and 15 mph, according to Rihaan Gangat, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Moon.

Several area schools Monday night announced delayed starting times for today.
