Johnson Leads Ravenswood Past Ripley 60-47 ; PREP ROUNDUP

Junior Chase Johnson scored 20 points and pulled down nine rebounds to help lead Ripley to a 60-47 home win over Jackson County rival Ravenswood in boys basketball Thursday. Senior Luke Layhew added 15 points and game-high 10 rebounds for the Vikings (11-2). Sophomore Stephen Dawson led the way for Ravenswood (7-4) with 15 points.

Girls

Huntington 54, Winfield 27: The Class AAA No. 2 Highlanders improved to 13-0 with the easy road win.

Dazha Congleton led Huntington with 18 points, while Jordyn Dawson finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds. For Winfield (5-6), Meagan Cavender netted 12 points.

Chapmanville 66, Tolsia 44: Chapmanville outscored Tolsia 33-11 over the second and third quarters to pull away for a road win.
