The Greater Canonsburg Library Association is seeking active people to serve on an executive committee spearheading the capital campaign for a new building.

The association is seeking at least three people each from North Strabane, Cecil, Canonsburg and the Canon-McMillan School District to serve on the committee.

Ila Stabile, association campaign director, appealed Tuesday to North Strabane supervisors, asking they recommend volunteers for the committee.

The committee will be made up of a chairman and seven vice chairmen in charge of various subcommittees, Stabile said. The executive committee's job will be to raise $3 million for the project.

The new library, which serves more than 28,000 people, will be on Murdock Street and Jefferson Avenue in Canonsburg, three blocks from the current library, and is slated to cost $2. …
