Missouri Group Stranded 25 Hours in Storm on Way Home from National March for Life

Four busloads of Missourians spent more than a day trapped on the Pennsylvania Turnpike between Friday afternoon and Saturday night, victims of the blizzard that blanketed large portions of the east coast from the Carolinas to New York.

The group of nearly 160 was in Washington, D.C., for Friday's annual March For Life anti-abortion rally despite warnings from public officials after forecasts that as much as two feet of snow could accumulate over the weekend.

Steve Rupp, president of Missouri Right To Life, was on one of the buses.

"We kept our schedule tight so we could get out of D.C. before the snow started coming down," he said in a telephone interview last night from Pennsylvania.
