Flames Give Phoenix a Hand in Fight for Survival

MANCHESTER Phoenix head coach Tony Hand has paid tribute to fellow Premier League team Guildford Flames after they raised funds to help with Phoenix's financial battle.

The Manchester side are still desperate for cash to ensure that they can finish the Premier League season, with their Supporters Trust gaining more and more attention each week.

Phoenix made the trip to Guildford for their match on Saturday, narrowly suffering a 4-3 overtime defeat after Jez Lundin scored the winner for the hosts.

During the game, Guildford fans managed to raise Pounds 621 through Tom Duggan shirt auctions, and that money will be donated to the Phoenix Supporters Trust.

Hand was pleased with his team's performance in the game, but more importantly was proud of the gesture that Flames produced. …
