Judge Carroll Sworn into Office | Was Appointed by Gov. Scott to Fill Vacancy

12TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT

Hunter Carroll is the newest judge in the 12th Judicial Circuit.

He was sworn in Friday at an investiture ceremony in the Sarasota County Commission chambers. Carroll was appointed last year by Gov. Rick Scott to fill the vacancy left by Judge James S. Parker's retirement. Parker had been a circuit judge in DeSoto County since 1985.

Circuit Judge Kimberly Bonner has transferred to the DeSoto County post. Carroll will be working primarily in Manatee County.

Carroll most recently practiced as a commercial litigation attorney with Matthews Eastmoore. He previously worked as an attorney with Carlton & Carroll and Carlton Fields. Carroll is past president of the Sarasota County Bar Association.

Judges, attorneys, court reporters and other officials attended the ceremony. …
