Singer, James Walter, III of Vero Beach, Florida, formerly of Washington, DC, died on January 24, 2016 at home with his family. He was 80 years old. He is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Lauren and Brooke, five grandchildren, brother, Tom and seven nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Lindsay McAnally and his sister, Barky Baldwin. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Jim graduated from St. Louis Country Day School, Harvard University, and the University of Virginia Law School. He also attended the London School of Economics. He began his career at the St. Louis law firm of Husch, Eppenberger, Donahue, Elson and Jones. He worked in the General Council's office of the Office of Economic Opportunity. He then became a journalist, first for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and later for the Chicago Sun Times where he covered legal affairs, including the Chicago Seven trial, and authored a book on the Angela Davis trial. …
