Offering a rougher, edgier brand of blues, the Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Harlis Sweetwater Band comes to Topeka for an 8 p.m. Saturday show at Uncle Bo's, the nightclub on the lower level of the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center, 420 S.E. 6th. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $10 through a link at www.unclebos.com. The act features Jimmy Sena on drums, Chris Lou on bass, Ken Shaw on trumpet, Jed Thurkettle on trombone and namesake Sweetwater leading them on guitar and vocals.

The world-renowned St. Olaf Choir, directed by Anton Armstrong, will perform sacred and secular masterpieces at 3 p.m. Sunday at Grace Cathedral, 701 S.W. 8th, as part of the chorus' 17-city, 10- state winter tour and the cathedral's Great Spaces Music & Arts Series. …
