Johnson Wants Ammies to Put Leaders under Pressure

SALFORD CITY begin their quest to reel in Evo-Stik Premier leaders Blyth as they host mid-table Frickley today.

The Ammies lost 2-1 in Tuesday night's top-of-the-table clash in the north east, which allowed Blyth to go seven points clear of Salford.

The Ammies had already dropped to third after Workington's win over Hyde United on Monday night.

But joint-manager Anthony Johnson has urged his side to put that defeat behind them and go on another title-winning winning run.

"Fair play to Blyth, they've gone seven points clear," he said. "But we went to the leaders and battered them, in all honesty. We missed four sitters like we've never missed before.

"But we've got to dust ourselves down and go again. We can't dwell on anything.

"We've got 19 games to go, there's loads of time left, so we've got to keep the pressure on. …
