Stampede Wins Thriller over Wildcats in Overtime

As regulation expired, Paul W. Bryant High School's Daviyon Dennis went up for the 3-point shot. He missed, but as he came down, Tuscaloosa County High School's Steve Johnson came down, too.

"In my mind the referee motioned for a foul," Bryant coach Shon Peck-Love said. "I had a discussion with the clock operator and they said there was no time."

In the end, the Stampede came out with a 47-45 overtime win over TCHS on Thursday night.

Bryant's Kameron Swift and DeAndre Ashe both knocked down 3- pointers early in overtime to give the Stampede the lead, 45-41, with 2:25 remaining.

"Going into overtime as the home team, you kind of feel like you have the advantage and I think Kameron and DeAndre stepped up big to kind of push us over the hump," Peck-Love said. …
