Skateboarders and wannabes, as well as their parents, will get a chance to help design the new skateboard park that's to be built in Cranberry, thanks to a grant from American Eagle Outfitters.

The design meeting will be held between 5 and 8 p.m. April 7 in the Rochester Road municipal center.

The skateboard park will be built behind the center on a pad once used to hold impounded vehicles, according to Parks and Recreation Director Mike Diehl.

The public meeting will be coordinated by KaBOOM!, a 10-year- old, national, nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C., that works through corporate, foundation, association and individual donors to build and improve skateboard parks across the country.

The meeting will be held to collect information on features to include in the design and to recruit parents to assist in the daylong Community Build Day, tentatively set for June 18. …
