Butler County

The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission awarded a $10,000 general operating support grant to the Butler County Historical Society.

The grant program supports the efforts of official county historical societies to preserve local history.

The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking applicants for lifeguards, cashiers and concession stand workers for Alameda Pool as well as maintenance staff and camp counselors throughout the parks system. Franklin Park

The UPMC Headache Center recently opened a satellite clinic at 1606 Carmody Court, off the Wexford exit of Interstate 79.

The new clinic offers the same services as the University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurology's main headache center in Oakland.

Those services are geared toward patients suffering from new- onset headaches, difficult to control migraines and migraine variants.

The doctors also are interested in the interaction of migraines with sleep and depression, working closely with psychiatric and sleep-medicine specialists.

Jackson

Rich Crown is the township's new manager.

The Jackson supervisors Thursday hired Crown at an annual salary of $65,000.

Crown has been the manager in Cecil for the past four years. He replaces Fritz Hahn, who resigned at the end of December after holding the position since 1995.

Hahn earned $48,576 in 2004.

Township Supervisor Ralph DiLuigi said Crown's skills are a good fit for the township's needs. Crown will begin work April 4.
