PREP ROUNDUP: Tuscaloosa County and Holt Moved to Wednesday

NORTHPORT -- The games originally scheduled tonight between Tuscaloosa County and Holt have been moved to Thursday because of possible inclement weather.

Tuscaloosa County is hosting the games and it will be Senior Night where the senior boys and girls players will be honored. The varsity girls play Holt at 6 p.m. Thursday followed by the varsity boys game at 7:30 p.m.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Pitts' free throws give Central the edge

TRUSSVILLE -- TraNiya Pitts made two clutch free throws with about six seconds remaining to give the Central girls basketball team a 60-57 win at Hewitt-Trussville on Monday.

Pitts ended the game with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Shun Stephenson had 14 points and 14 rebounds and Antiyocka Howard had 15 points and six rebounds.

Central (22-5) will host the AHSAA Class 5A, Area 7 tournament on Monday and plays Jemison.

Homewood 65,

Northridge 30

HOMEWOOD -- The top point totals for Northridge game from Kimora Ogden, who scored seven points, Savannah Reier with six and Aikavelyn Harris with five.

Northridge (8-18) will host Greensboro on Wednesday. The game is a re-scheduling for last week's game between the two teams that was postponed after a Northridge student was tragically killed in an automobile accident that day.

Paul W. Bryant 46,

Brookwood 37

BROOKWOOD -- Amanda Ford scored 14 points and made 15 rebounds, and Chelsey Brown had nine rebounds and seven points for Paul W. Bryant.

Morgan Gaither led Brookwood with 17 points.

Bryant (11-11) will play next week in the AHSAA Class 6A, Area 6 tournament hosted by Hillcrest.

Holy Spirit 66,

Oakman 28

OAKMAN -- Ayana Tyree scored 16, Victoria Lavender 20 and Laura Spence 10. Lavender also had seven rebounds. Aryn Head had 10 rebounds to go with eight points.

Holy Spirit (17-4) plays at Hubbertville on Friday.

Hale County 72,

Pickens County 37

REFORM -- Tamera Croxton had 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Dequandra Lyles 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Tangi Crews 10 points and 11 rebounds for Hale County, which also had 24 steals.

For Pickens County, co-scoring leaders, both with 11 points, were Kateria Simon and Kailyndra Lanier.

Hale County (15-5, 6-1) hosts Brookwood on Thursday. …
