Authorities ID man killed in Homewood shooting

A man who was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon on a Homewood street has been identified.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as Reginald Franklin Jr., 27. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

Pittsburgh police said Mr. Franklin evidently was leaving a store in the 7200 block of Frankstown Avenue near North Homewood Avenue when a man shot him at least once. He was pronounced dead at UPMC Presbyterian.

The gunman fled on foot in the direction of Sterrett Street. The suspect is a 6-foot-1 black man with a dark complexion, thin build and shoulder-length dreadlocks.
