SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Ramapo coach Drew Gibbs stuck with the game plan. This was 14 years ago and Gibbs was preparing to play Wayne Hills for the New Jersey state sectional championship. The assignment was a daunting one: figure out a way to stop Greg Olsen.

So Gibbs decided he would put two of his players on Olsen no matter where he went. That left Ramapo vulnerable against the run when Wayne Hills decided to split Olsen out wide, leaving Gibbs with a choice that the Patriots ended up exploiting en route to a 19-0 victory for their first title in school history in 2002.

"If I pulled the linebacker back inside, it was going to be a touchdown to Greg every time," Gibbs recalled for The Record last week with Olsen and the Panthers preparing to play the Broncos in Super Bowl 50 this Sunday. …
