VINCENT Kompany has warned his angry team-mates they cannot start feeling sorry for themselves over yesterday's controversial penalty decision.

The Blues were furious that referee Mark Clattenburg awarded Spurs a spot kick for a handball against Raheem Sterling.

But Kompany refused to denounce the official and said his team must focus on themselves and not blame bad luck.

"I don't like to comment on referees," he said. "If I'm honest I didn't really have a position from which I could judge it.

"I hear what people are saying and we have seen the images but we need to move on from this, and the only way we will be successful this season is to learn from these moments and take strength out of it.

"I am always grateful to see referees do the job they do for us, and they take a lot of stick. The decisions will go against us, and will go for us. …
