New Soccer Club Names Newendorp GM

OKLAHOMA CITY - Rayo OKC of the North American Soccer League named Eric Newendorp as general manager.

Newendorp has 20 years of experience in the sports business, including time with Major League Soccer, the University of Tulsa and the Tulsa Shock in the Women's National Basketball Association.

Newendorp's responsibilities will include developing and managing business operations.

The Moore native has a master's degree in sports administration from Canisius College. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma.

Plans for Rayo were announced in November. Brad Lund and DeBray Ayala are managing partners.

Rayo OKC opens its inaugural season at home versus FC Edmonton at Miller Stadium in Yukon on April 2.

Rayo also named Meghan Black, Cameron Gordon and Derrick Boyd as fan relations managers. Black played soccer at Oklahoma City University. …
