N. Winters' Feb. 8 letter ("Bushes Have Had a Big Role in This Mess of War") criticizes both presidents for their roles in the Iraq wars.

Ms. Winters fails to note that Bush 41 had the experience and judgment to develop an international coalition to drive Iraq out of Kuwait and to stop at its border, lest overthrowing Saddam Hussein would destabilize the Middle East, which is reality today after Bush 43's subsequent unilateral war and ouster of Saddam.

Bush 43 sold the war on the fraudulent basis that Saddam was determinedly pursuing African uranium to build his own nuclear arsenal.

We know it was fraudulent because we found zero evidence of any such program after Saddam's fall.

Furthermore, unnamed Bush administration officials were among New York Times reporter Judith Miller's sources for stories that were part of the drumbeat to war. …
