Article excerpt

Seton-LaSalle might have had to win a play-in game to make it into the WPIAL Class AA bracket, but the back-to-back finalists and 2014 champion Rebels knew what to do once they got there.

Bill O'Malley scored a game-high 23 points and Cletus Helton added 21 as Seton-LaSalle (15-9) came from behind to upset No. 5 Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (16-6), 68-62, in a first-round game at Chartiers Valley.

"We feel very fortunate, and this group of kids, similar to the last few years, is a very loose group, but, on the bus, they were really quiet, and I was a bit concerned," Seton-LaSalle coach Mark Walsh said. "But, right before game, they were telling jokes and they just roll with it."

Seton-LaSalle trailed, 44-42, heading into the fourth quarter, but pulled out its ninth consecutive victory despite a productive night from Chargers senior center Collin Neville, who scored 19 points, and Adam Pace who added 13 in the loss.
