N.J. to Help with College Forms

Article excerpt

The state is offering help, beginning with a session in Bergen County on Saturday, for families in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, known as FAFSA, for college.

Volunteers with expertise in financial aid will help students and parents complete the FAFSA at more than 20 events scheduled in the coming weeks at nine locations in New Jersey, according to the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority.

Students must complete a FAFSA each year to qualify for federal, state and college-based financial aid. Experts say the FAFSA should take about an hour to fill out if applicants have the necessary tax forms and bank statements available.

Here is a link to the full schedule of events statewide: njfafsadays.org/ docs/toc_locations.html.
