Armstrong Woman Charged in Son's Overdose Death

An Armstrong County woman has been charged in the drug overdose death of her 11-year-old son in December.

Bobbie Jo Truckley, 36, of Madison was arraigned Thursday on charges of involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person.

State police said that Ms. Truckley's son, Dustin Vawn Truckley, was found dead in his bed by his father Dec. 18 at the family's Deanville Road house in Madison. Police said that Dustin died from a methadone overdose after ingesting the drug, a medication prescribed to Ms. Truckley, who was the only person in the house allowed to take it. Methadone is commonly used to treat addiction to opioids, such as heroin.

Ms. Truckley told police that she kept an extra bottle of methadone for "bad days," according to a criminal complaint. …
