CLASS 7A STATE SEMIFINAL

WHO: Lakewood Ranch Mustangs (25-6) vs. Niceville Eagles (20-9)

WHEN: 10 a.m. Friday

WHERE: The Lakeland Center

DIRECTIONS: Take Interstate 75 North to I-4 East. Take Exit 31 and turn right on Kathleen Road and continue to Sikes Boulevard. Stay right at yield sign and turn right at second light on Lime Street. The Lakeland Center is on the right.

TICKETS: $10. PARKING: $10.

NOTES: A couple of district runners-up are in the Final 4 for the first time in their respective programs history. Lakewood Ranch reached the regional final for the first time last season, losing to Fort Myers, 55-51. Niceville had been to the regional final on two previous occasions in 2000 and last season, when it lost to Apopka Wekiva.

The Eagles are led by senior Jessie Day. The daughter of Coach David Day (third season) tops the team, averaging 19 points, 12.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists. She pulled down 24 rebounds in two games this season. Senior Amanda Wilson owns the Niceville record for 3- pointers in a game with seven, breaking the 16-year mark of Demeka McClendon, a current assistant coach. …
