The artistry of male quilters -- 22 in all -- is the focus of an exhibition opening Sunday at Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg.

Titled Man-Made Quilts and on display through April 17, the show is designed to give visitors a chance to view the male artistic approach to a craft traditionally considered a woman's domain.

The exhibit was organized by the Museum of American Quilter's Society in Paducha, Ky. Included are the works of two local residents: Jim Mikula, a retired teacher from Ligonier, and Pete Buchan, a retired state trooper from Latrobe who also volunteers at Westmoreland's Museum Shop.

In addition, Pittsburgh artist Shawn Quinlan will be featured in a separate exhibition, Quilted Art, in the Walsh Gallery.

A free opening reception is set for 6 to 8 p. …
