Under Pennsylvania law, persons younger than 21 are not allowed to drink alcohol. Anyone younger than 21 driving with a blood alcohol content of .02 or higher can be charged with driving under the influence.

Drivers ages 18 to 21 are processed as adults, while those younger than 18 are processed through juvenile court.

Any person older than 18 arrested for DUI:

* Will be required to complete an Alcohol Highway Safety course.

* May face a license suspension of one year, 48 hours in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.

* Will pay such additional costs as high auto insurance and court fees.

Juveniles stopped for DUI:

* May be arrested and detained for blood, breath and/or urine testing.
