KU Football Loses Third Assistant Coach in Last Two Weeks

The Kansas football team has lost another assistant coach.

Defensive line coach Calvin Thibodeaux is leaving the program to take the same position with Oklahoma, according to a report at SoonerScoops.com early Tuesday afternoon. It represents the fifth assistant departure for the Jayhawks since the end of the season and the third in the last two weeks.

Thibodeaux, 32, was an All-Big 12 defensive end for the Sooners during his time in Norman (2002-06). He joined KU coach David Beaty's first-year staff in January 2015 after three seasons as defensive tackles coach at Tulsa.

Since the conclusion of the 2015 season, which saw the Jayhawks finish 0-12, KU has also lost linebackers coach Kevin Kane (Northern Illinois), running backs coach/recruiting coordinator Reggie Mitchell (Arkansas) and wide receivers coach Klint Kubiak (Denver Broncos). …
