Area Students Selected as National Youth Correspondents

Two area students are among 250 chosen as National Youth Correspondents for the 2016 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University this summer. Taylor Davis of Culloden and Claire Kelley of South Charleston will join a select group from all over the country for an intensive study of journalism and media at the conference. Davis and Kelley were chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in journalism and media studies.

The conference will take place on the George Mason University campus in Fairfax, Virginia, July 10 through July 15. There, the National Youth Correspondents will participate in hands-on, experiential learning through decision-making simulations that challenge them to solve problems and explore the creative, practical and ethical tensions inherent in journalism and media. …
