MARCH 3 is the 21st annual World Book Day - a UNESCO campaign that celebrates and promotes reading.

It sees yet another stellar line-up of children's authors who have helped to create special editions of stories that will sell for Pounds 1 (or can be redeemed with a special Pounds 1 book token children will receive).

Kipper's Visitor by Mick Inkpen (Hodder Children's Books), which has been created for WBD, and Supertato: Hap-pea Ever After by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet (Simon & Schuster Children's Books), are perfect for toddlers.

In the five to seven category, Kes Gray and Nick Sharratt offer a real treat, creating Daisy and the Trouble With Jack (Red Fox) especially for WBD. There is also The Great Mouse Plot by Roald Dahl & Quentin Blake (Puffin).

Norm fans will lap up the Welcome to the World of Norm by Jonathan Meres (Orchard), while Star Wars aficionados will love the Star Wars: Adventures in Wild Space by Cavan Scott (Egmont) - both aimed at readers aged seven to nine. …
