Even in today's gender-bending age, there's nothing quite like an actor in skirts and high heels to get an audience laughing. "Leading Ladies," a farce running through March 5 presented by the Bergen County Players, is part of a great tradition.TELL ME MORE: Ken Ludwig ("Lend Me a Tenor," "Moon Over Buffalo"), is an accomplished farceur who knows how to make playgoers chuckle. But the writer took out some extra insurance in 2004 by employing the most surefire gambit in theater -- zipping men into dresses and having them stumble about the stage in high heels. It worked in "Charley's Aunt" (1892) and in the film "Some Like It Hot" (1959). And it works in this romp about two down-on-their luck English Shakespearean actors (Filipe Valente of Bergenfield, Ian Murphy of Dumont), who hatch a plot to scam someone out of a fortune -- by impersonating the victim's nieces. …
