Tricked-Out Jeep Is Latest Cespedes Ride

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - While growing up in Cuba, Mets slugger Yoenis Cespedes had just two means of transportation: his feet and a bike.

As he prepares for his fifth season in the majors, and after signing a $75 million contract, Cespedes can choose whichever customized vehicle he wants to drive to spring training each day.

"Being in Cuba I never thought I was going to be here in the United States," Cespedes said through a translator Friday morning after showing off his latest vehicle. "After I got here I saw the possibilities that I can have whatever I want, so I worked hard for it."

The Cespedes car show continued with the slugger arriving in a white and red Jeep Wrangler with white stitching on the seats that resembles a baseball glove. It marked his fourth vehicle in as many days - and fifth in six. He will showcase the final car in his collection today.

"It's like a spaceship," Cespedes said of the Jeep.

Cespedes said this car is his favorite. …
