KEITH Hill pulled off a managerial masterstroke with a double half-time substitution as his side ran out 2-0 winners against Sheffield United at Spotland.

Peter Vincenti and Grant Holt came off the bench to score the goals that dealt a blow to the Blades' promotion hopes - while at the same time easing fears of relegation among the home supporters.

Dale had goalkeeper Josh Lillis to thank for keeping them in the game. He pulled off three magnificent saves to deny Florent Cuvelier and Che Adams on two occasions, while the home team were fortunate when Matt Lund's header hit the foot of his own post.

But the course of the contest turned with the half-time changes.
