The voices of Leila Richards ("Who's Afraid of Interfaith Dialogue?" Feb. 10 Perspectives) and Samuel Hazo ("Holy Land Travel," Feb. 14 letters) are raised at a critical time when fear among people of various religious backgrounds seems to be growing. Their encouragement to visit the Holy Land (held as sacred to people of several faiths) in interfaith groups falls on listening ears for readers who make it a priority to foster positive relations among people of all faiths.

Many people have visited the Holy Land from their own faith perspective to see places they have learned about in the holy books and traditions of their religions, and I hope more people will.

The interfaith dialogue on trips to the Holy Land suggested by Dr. Richards would broaden their perspectives to include the life circumstances of those who call the Holy Land their home today. …
