Supervisors voted last Wednesday to sell the township's FCC license for $1,095 to Beaver County's 911 Emergency Service Center.

Plans to erect a communication tower in neighboring Big Beaver have been scrapped because Big Beaver has not renewed its police contract with Chippewa.

The license sale is contingent on allowing Chippewa to use the county's tower in the future and for Chippewa to buy the license back at the original cost if the county decided to sell it.

Applications are being accepted for the commissioners' seat of Ralph Vituccio, 81, who died of a heart attack March 6.
