It was a real treat to see someone put into print things I have been saying and thinking for quite some time. And Pittsburgh North Bureau Chief Brian David's series of editorials in January did just that, wishing that the 38 north suburban municipalities would merge and condense into "The North Hills Eight." Mr. David has presented the idea; I propose working on the action plan.

The time has come for the boroughs, townships and school districts to re-examine boundaries, business practices and their futures. As it stands now, and this is just one simple example, if one lives in Bellevue and wants to go to Bellevue's community park, one goes to Ross!

Interstate 279 has redefined living conditions, and there would be no better place to start than the communities between the Ohio River and I-279. Start with Bellevue and Avalon merging, expanding their northern border to I-279 and, if necessary, redefining the western border with Ben Avon. …
