Tuscaloosa Police Say Man Has Threatened College Women

Police are searching for a man they believe has threatened college women walking alone in off-campus housing areas.

Three University of Alabama students have reported that they were approached by a man during the early morning hours. They said he showed a gun and demanded either sex or money, said Lt. Kip Hart, assistant commander of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit. None of the women have been harmed.

"It appears that if the suspect does not get what he wants, he will flee," Hart said.

Based on the physical descriptions and the suspect's mannerisms, investigators believe that the man is the same suspect who robbed two convenience stores last month. The same man was captured on surveillance video robbing a store on Hackberry Lane and 17th Street on Feb. 21 and another store at 10th Avenue and 17th Street on Feb. …
