Manatee Riverfront Mansion Sells for Discounted $2.6 Million

MANATEE COUNTY -- One of Manatee's most prominent mansions was acquired in a short sale last week for $2.6 million, a fraction of its original list price.

The Manatee River-front home, at 6280 Riverview Blvd., was sold by Bill Mullis, a former owner of employee services company Staff Leasing who as a child delivered newspapers to the property.

The 1997-built, red-brick Greek Revival home encloses 10,310 square feet on a 1.2-acre site with 150 feet of waterfront, according to the listing.

The property has been on and off the market for more than a decade.

Listed for $10.9 million back in 2004, the price dropped to $8.85 million in 2010, to $7.9 million in 2012, to $4.5 million a year later and then to $2.6 million this year.

The buyers were Steven F. and Natalee Herrig. …
