MORGANTOWN - West Virginia will complete its coaching staff by naming Miami Dolphins assistant coach Blue Adams its cornerbacks coach, a source told the Gazette-Mail. Adams, 36, is from Miami and played in college at Cincinnati.

He was drafted in 2003 by the Detroit Lions and was later with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons.

Adams will replace Brian Mitchell, who was named Virginia Tech's cornerbacks coach Friday, and join offensive coordinator Joe Wickline and safeties coach Matt Caponi as first-year assistants when the Mountaineers begin spring practice Sunday.

While with the Bearcats, Adams set a school record with six interceptions as a senior in 2002 - he returned two for touchdowns - and 12 in his career, though both records have since been broken. …
