Fair Lawn Drug Bust Nets Marijuana, Pills

FAIR LAWN -- Police say they seized more than a pound of marijuana, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and more than $16,000 in cash from a house Thursday night following a monthlong narcotics investigation.

Officers searched the home after receiving an anonymous tip, Sgt. Brian Metzler said. They found the marijuana contained in mason jars and Tupperware containers, glass pipes, plastic baggies, sandwich bags, digital scales, grinders, $16,126 in cash and assorted prescription pills packaged for distribution, he said.

Fair Lawn residents Michael Abelev, 19, and Jaewon Choi, 20, were arrested around 8 p.m. as they were leaving the Elmary Place home, Metzler said in a statement. Abelev is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within 500 feet of a public park and possession of drug paraphernalia. …
