Capital Gains for Blues' Fans Who Live in London

CITY are set to charter trains for their London fans - to help them get home after mid-week night matches.

London-based supporters face problems when travelling to and from evening kick-offs - but it appears club officials have listened and want to help.

Currently, fans are unable to travel back by train to the capital after a night game because the last direct service departs from Manchester at 9.25pm, leaving London Blues having to fork out for extra hotel costs and using up valuable holiday time from work.

However, City's game with Dynamo Kiev next week will see the club work with Virgin Trains to lay on a chartered train to ease the problem.

The idea is being trialled for the Kiev match - but the club hope it will be successful and develop into a permanent arrangement.

The special train will feature a carriage dedicated to Blues supporters, with former players on hand to provide entertainment on the journey up to Manchester, and, most crucially, there will be a later service that will give fans time to get out of the ground and get home after the game has finished. …
