Shakers Snap Up Gardner on Loan

BURY have eased their injury problems by signing Dan Gardner on loan from League One rivals Chesterfield.

The Shakers have seen several players ruled out in recent weeks, with no less than six currently in the treatment room.

But manager David Flitcroft brought in youngster Sean Clare on loan from Sheffield Wednesday at the end of last week.

And the Bury boss has now added another attacking midfielder to his ranks with Gortonborn Gardner returning to the region.

The former Flixton and Droylsden man has linked up with the Shakers until the end of the season.

Gardner has scored three goals in 31 appearances for Chesterfield this season but has started just once since new boss Danny Wilson took charge in December.

Crewe handed the 25-year-old his professional debut in 2010 before Chesterfield gave him a second chance in the Football League, signing him from FC Halifax in January 2014. …
