A YOUNG mum accused of stealing Pounds 50 from a Tesco store is set to strut down the catwalk at a national competition.

Charlene Whalley, 24, from Radcliffe, will represent North Manchester at the Miss British Isles contest, despite facing trial for the alleged theft of Pounds 50.

She hopes taking part in the beauty pageant will put her career on the runway to success, and see her follow in the footsteps of previous winners who've gone on the appear on TV and in Bollywood films.

Miss Whalley made headlines last year when she posted a response to a police appeal for her whereabouts.

She taunted them with a picture of herself dressed as Where's Wally, in a familiar white and red bobble hat.

She later handed herself in and was charged with theft, which she claims is down to a 'misunderstanding'. …
